Amelia Earhart Returns is the female acoustic duo of Linda “shibes” Schaible and Kristen Hart.

Their show is a combination of lyrically focused Americana songs mixed with a few bluegrass-infused boot scooters showcasing their harmonies and humor. “Wow – that was so much fun!” is often heard after a show.

They began playing music together in Knoxville, TN, finding air play on iconic stations such as WNCW in Spindale NC. Inspired by the Indigo Girls’ harmonies and new folk influence, they drew a dedicated following across the region.

Amelia Earhart Returns grew into sharing the stage and billing with legendary musicians such as Eliza Gilkyson, Caroline Aiken, Norman & Nancy Blake, Mindy Smith, Louise Mosrie, disappear fear, Stacey Earle and Mark Stuart, the Nields, Christine Kane, and Gillian Welch and David Rawlings.

Now living in Houston TX, shibes and Hart create songs that leverage shibes’s success as a published poet, as well as her love of Americana singer-songwriters, and Hart’s lead guitar playing that features some bluegrass and blues chops that would make Bonnie Raitt proud!
